Privacy Policy

Belya ("Belya", "we", "us") provides a personal AI assistant that connects to your email, calendar, and contacts to help you manage your day. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.

What we collect

When you connect an account (Google or Microsoft), we access only the data you explicitly grant during sign-in: contacts, email messages, and calendar events. We do not access any other data on your account, and we never ask for your password.

Google user data — Limited Use disclosure

Belya's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts data read via Google APIs is used only to power the Belya features you see in your own household's portal (message/contact/calendar unification, reminders, and the actions you explicitly request); it is never used to serve ads, never sold or transferred to third parties for their own purposes, never used to train generalized/non-personalized AI or machine-learning models, and is only read or reviewed by humans with your affirmative consent for security investigations, to comply with law, or at your request for support.

How we use it

Your data powers Belya's assistant features for your household only: unifying your messages, contacts, and calendar in one place, and surfacing reminders (like renewals or bills) automatically. Most processing runs on Belya's own local AI infrastructure at zero third-party cost. A cloud AI provider (Anthropic) is used only for a small number of requests that need more capability, and only the minimum text needed is sent.

Actions Belya can take on your behalf

With your permission, Belya can also act for you: sending an email reply, creating or updating a calendar event, or adding a contact. Belya only takes these actions when you ask it to (for example, "reply to this email" or "add this to my calendar") - it does not send messages, create events, or modify your contacts on its own initiative.

Where it's stored

Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the EU (Frankfurt), encrypted at rest. Every household's data is isolated at the database level - one household can never see or receive suggestions derived from another household's data, even though the underlying assistant technology is shared across all users.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train third-party AI models. It is only shared with the infrastructure and AI providers strictly necessary to run the service (currently Supabase and, occasionally, Anthropic), acting as data processors on our behalf.

Retention

We retain your household's data for as long as your account is connected, so Belya can keep building useful context over time. If you disconnect a provider, we stop syncing new data from it but keep what was already learned unless you request deletion.

Your controls, including deletion

You can disconnect any connected account (Google or Microsoft) at any time from your Belya settings, which stops all further access immediately. You can request a full export or permanent deletion of your household's data at any time by contacting us below — deletion removes your household's records (people, messages, calendar events, facts, tasks, and stored credentials) from our systems. Note: deleting your household in Belya does not automatically revoke the Google/Microsoft permission grant on that provider's side — for full revocation, also remove Belya from your Google/Microsoft account's connected-apps settings.

Children

Belya is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where required, notify you directly.
